Bayou Blues Reviews
* Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock*It was only after the death of her parents that Ava discovered that she was a Guardian. When life drew her the the Big Easy, she began her battle with the White Shaman, who wanted more than Ava could give. This was a well written and descriptive book. I enjoyed the characters all all the action. Ava was a interesting ideal. This book has the beginning of a love triangle starting and I love those kind of stories. This would be a perfect book for a teen or young adult. It is very age friendly.I would of like to have seen more about how she became a Guardian as well as more of a back story. It felt like at times to drop you into the middle of the story without giving you enough of her back ground to go off of. It did end with a cliffhanger which by the way I hate that.Even though there are a few things I would have changed I do recommend this to young adults and teens. I also give it 3 out of 5 fangs. The review has been edited on amazon and goodreads. Same http info as before. Please let me know if you need anything else.
I am on the fence about this book, on one hand there was a lot of action and I liked the use of the wolf spirit vs. the normal werewolf action I see in most paranormal books, but on the other hand I just found my self detached with this book.It did not flow smoothly for me and because of that I kind of struggled to finish the book. It was an ok read, I would recommend it more for the early teens vs. the later teens and YA crowd. I did like the cliff hanger, that was probably my favorite part of the book if only because cliff hangers tend to make me want to read the next book as soon as possible. I would buy the next installment of the series if I had nothing else to read but it would not be at the top of my list.
