I was warned by the author that these were silly little stories, and she was right—silly, energetic, clever, and fun, just like Ms. Ricci herself. But again, like the author, do not be surprised at the sensitive and perceptive portrayals and the depth of character beneath the surface. The reader quickly finds herself rooting for the good guys and hoping the naughty ones get their just desserts. Quick and entertaining, Heart Marks the Spot is a perfect in-between read! Loved it!

"Funny, Odd, and Entertaining"Tonight, just before bedtime, I'm reading some short stories ... perhaps these will stimulate my sleepy brain to dream of humor and romance. This author is renowned for her great stories. The First story (Part One) is The Codicil. Feelda Peaches Aldaway just learns her grandfather, Jake Justerkeep, has left her his mansion and it's contents. She also inherits the family jewels and $850,000 to maintain the property. But there's one stipulation ... revealed in the codicil. The Codicil (Part Two), "Sweet Life Cafe." Oxy Morone was also a brother-in-law to Jake Justerkeep. He has called upon his two thugs to look into the inheritance left to Feelda. He wants his share ... he has a wicked plan in mind. What a naughty plan!! The third story is "Those Loving Thighs." Sharon Lovejoy and her husband, Adam, have had a falling out and are seeking lawyers to expedite divorce. Their son, Ron, comes home from college for a few days. A snow storm has hit the area and Sharon is jealous that Ron is staying at his dad's. Well ... Sharon's lights go out and Ron plays the role as referee. Which one wins the match? Very creative stories and certainly funny ... I don't know how my dreams turned out as I don't remember them this morning, but I did wake with a smile! I'm chuckling! Give these short stories a blink ... they'll make your eyes open wide!!

When Feelda's uncle that she's been taking care of and has a few strange dying wishes put in his will, the stories begin. I found these tales to be well written with humor and a little quirkiness to match. I think readers will find them engaging and will smile while also frowning at the strange goings on in Feela's life. Good job on three stories to keep you glued to the page.

Three short stories that will leave you laughing! The author clearly had fun with her stories and thinking up names for her characters. Very unique!

These silly short stories are great for an in-between read, like on a plane ride or at the doctor's appointment where you have to wait. With 6 Five ** reviews, it's not bad at all!
