Immortal Dynasty Reviews
More about the sex than the story. I don't want to spoil the plot, but as an historian, this story really misses the mark on historical detail. Fred Flintstone meets Christian Grey. I won't be reading anymore in the series.
In a line . . . Immortal Dynasty is the first stepping stone in a series that decides the fate of the world based on a prophecy in which ancient gods of the past rise to destroy mankind.Shaila a'k'Hemet, Lady of Flame and Anunnaki goddess, makes a vow to protect her best friend's son in ancient Egypt, knowing that centuries will pass before she sees the world again. If she fails, mankind is doomed, because hidden with her is an amulet that will bring an evil goddess's son, Therion, into terrifying power. In present day Boston, Darius Alexander is recruited to find the amulet in exchange for his grandfather's life despite his skepticism about prophecies. It leads him to Shaila, who has been trapped in a golden statue, but returns to life with his help.Together the pair, with help from Shaila's ages-old priest, steampunk bedecked sister, Darius' dinosaur-loving friend, and an Anunnaki healer, fight to crush demons, a dark forced called shadow walkers, and banish Therion. Haviland combined history, legend, adventure, fated love, and mystique into Immortal Dynasty for one wild and intriguing book. The interaction between the characters is well-done, particularly the rivalry and hatred between Darius and Therion. I'm looking forward to the next book and I have a feeling I'm going to be begging for the third before it's ready.
I had to start and stop this book and didn't get to read it the whole way through, but by the time I was finishing it I was in one of my cravings for ancient history (with interest) and this fit the bill. In fact, it makes me want to reread it again. Dialogue was well done and so was the plotting, especially the surprise elements. There were moments when the bad guys felt a little cliche but it usually didn't last long and the author would shift or add an element that would remedy the issue. I would read this book again, and I plan on it. And book number two.
I really enjoyed this book. I actually stayed up all night to finish it. And even now I look back and still think about the characters. Lynda weaves some great imagery and dialogue to keep you turning the pages till the very end.
A fabulous book that took me on a joy ride with some of Egypt's finest heroes and villains. I loved the kickass heroine and tough guy hero. I don't read a lot of paranormal, but I can tell you this is a must read if you are a paranormal fan.
To be fair, part of my low rating is due to the narration...which just annoyed me.
I really enjoyed reading Immortal Dynasty. It held a great story throughout the book. Well written. Great characters that I loved. This book is an awesome read. I recommend reading it.

A really fun, interesting story. Someone mentioned that it wasn't historically correct. It's fiction not a history lesson 😀 . The writing was excellent. Can't wait to read more of her books.
